Neck Pain, Kissing Spines, and Sacroiliac Disease in Horses with Dr Ian Bidstrup
These three major issues affecting modern horses share a common factor: they all involve painful strain at the bone attachments of fascia, joint capsules, ligaments, and tendons along the horse’s spine. The tissues are all connective tissues. This webinar is about illuminating the importance of the strain of the bone attachment of connective tissues as a major pain generator in many common painful neck, back, sacroiliac, shoulder and hip bone conditions.Such strain is commonly caused by injuries due to falls or intense exertion but also from poor posture maintained over time. The webinar will also include discussion of practical approaches to recognition, treatment and management of this strain, with the aim of improving both the welfare and performance of horses.
